New Years Eve 2010

 New Years Eve 2010
Mom and Dad came over and we just hung out at our house. We ate a lot of junk--we played some games and we watched the ball drop on t.v. Well some of us watched the ball drop.  Carter was trying so so so hard to stay awake.  She almost made it.  It was 11:50 and she started to drift of to sleep.  I kept poking her and telling her to wake up it is almost midnight.  She said "I am just resting my eyes." Then at 11:55 I tried again "WAKE UP!"  Nope--she was done.  In the space of 5 minutes it was lights out for Carter. She has yet to make it to midnight on New Year's Eve.  Maybe next year.

I took this picture so Carter could see midnight even though she was sleeping through it.
Courtlyne tooted her little horn and we all shared a New Years kiss with the ones we love.
Happy New Year!!!

Last Day

Soooo, it's the last day of school and I did not meet my goal. I was totally going to have the blog up to date as of today. I could do it. I could post all the events of the last 5 months right now and meet the goal and be done---But I do not want to. I want to lay down and sleep. Relax, let my mind and my emotions disappear into the night. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. NOPE not now---the kids and husband are playing dodgeball in the other room, surely someone will be crying in the next 5 minutes. Maybe by the end of the summer the blog will be up to date. Or maybe not. HuMMM.....

Christmas 2009

Christmas Eve 2009
My cute mom and Caeden--Caeden could not get enough of Grandma--To bad Grandma was sharing her lap. My Mom said "I know that it is bad to say this as a Grandma, but I think she (Caeden) is my favorite." Do not tell the other kids. She is just so cute, and curious, and silly. She gives great snugglie hugs, and she has a smile to die for. I don't blame my Mom right now for playing favorites.

Carter--Emma--Cal
Christmas Eve
We had dinner and a lovely time with family as always on Christmas Eve.

The MAGIC of Christmas morning.

Not much compares in the mind of a child.

--Santa's special deliveries--
All smiles and fun after unwrapping the gifts.
I love how Christmas was just relaxed--not rushed or busy.
We visited everyone and enjoyed it all.

Queen of the presents.

This box would have been at the top of her list, if she could make a list. Just the right size and shape to climb on. Bright and colorful--then she could rip the paper off later.

Thanksgiving Day 2009

Couldn't ask for a cuter start to a great day. I promised Sheri Poulson a picture of all the kids in the outfits that she gave them when Caeden was born, it just took her 9 months to grow into her clothes!! Sweet as Sugar if you ask me.

Cal showing off his totally rockin' turkey hat that he made at the library class. He has been going to a class at the library during the school year. He used to hurry out when class was over to go home but now he does not leave until his project is done. He is usually the last one left in the class, carefully coloring. His coloring skills are definitely improving!

Game time with Grandma.

Thanks for playing SORRY. The kids love it. I am glad grandma plays it with them because I do not really love it.

Dishes washed and stacked and ready to be put away.
I felt like these dishes need to be documented. They are Grandma Betty's fancy dishes we always use them on Thanksgiving.

*THANKFUL*

1. I am so thankful for my family: my awesome husband, my sweet kids, my lovely parents, my great brothers and sisters, Grandparents, in-laws and all the others that sometimes tag along.

2. I am thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, the peace it brings to me when I need it the most.

3. I am thankful to be a mom.

4. I am thankful for a job that I enjoy.

5. I am thankful for my ordinary life. (Even though I dream of glamorous vacations--I am sure I would be thankful for those too.)

6. I am thankful for love.

Halloween 2009

HALLOWEEN
2009

Halloween Party #1--Pirate Pizza Here We Come
We all got together for our annual Halloween party and to make it quick and easy we decided on a Pirate theme at the Pirate Pizza in Orem. This picture with all of us--my brothers and sisters is a treasure to me. We were all mistaken for workers at the pizza place--the manager asked us to teach some of his workers how to really dress like pirates, we celebrated Allan's 20th birthday, Ben stole someones pizza off their table, we ate delicious pizza, we got asked to sing "Happy Birthday" to some others at the restaurant, and we had a Jolly Roger of a good time.

October 28th--Allan's Final Farewell
We all had lunch at the Pizza Factory on Wednesday afternoon--and then we went home and said goodbye to our little brother and Uncle Allan--It was a little emotional for everyone but he is doing great in Chile! It will be fun to see how much the kids change when we take a picture of them all together when he comes home in two years.

Halloween Party #2--Redneck Halloween

We are so privileged to be on the list of invitees to this fun Halloween party--It was awesome to see everyone dressed up in their "worst." Great times--Great fun---Great people Ben did request that I not dress up like this ever again it sort of grossed him out!!

Missionary Times

Elder Allan Vernon Measom

After a long, extremely long, year of waiting and working Allan finally receive his mission call
in July of 2009.
He was called to the Chile Santiago East Mission and he was to report to the MTC on October 28th. Allan was determined to serve a mission and after a minor run in with the law set him back a year it would have been really easy to change his mind and do something else. He kept his sights set on a mission and he is now in Chile doing exceptionally well learning the language and teaching the people of Chile the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am so proud of him for going on a mission and setting an example for our family to follow. He is a great guy and I am glad to call him my brother.
I was able to take some pictures of Allan before he left and although I took tons and tons of pictures this one of him is my all time favorite. Since I am speed blogging I am only allowing myself one or two pictures per post, then I might get caught up to the end of the school year before it actually gets here

*August 2009*
First day of school
Carter and Courtlyne
Courtlyne is starting 4th Grade this year--WOW--I totally remember 4th grade, she is growing up so fast I can't believe it, only 2 more years until junior high! That will really freak me out!
She definitely has a great outfit--something I totally would have worn to school in 4th grade back in the 80's. Her teacher is Mr. Thorpe.
And my little Carter--a full day of school this year first grade. She is a little nervous about being gone all day but she will do great I know it! I am glad that we live close enough to walk to school it makes it nice to get out in the morning. Happy first day of school!
Her teacher is Mrs. LeMmon.
